I am back to painting! After a few months of struggling with some health issues, I am so happy to be back at my love of creating art!

I have been working on a commissioned piece for quite some time now, but I am almost finished with it so I will be back to posting my works that I complete.

This painting is called Little Red Poppies. It is an 11″ x 14″ oil on canvas.

This was a fun little piece to do. I grew up loving flowers because my mother always had a flower garden in our yard. We didn’t, however, have poppies, but I have always loved their color and beauty.

I hope you enjoy this newest flower painting!

This painting is called Poppies. It is 18″ x 24″ and is oil on canvas.

Poppies are popular for many reasons. Some of which I will NOT be discussing here on my blog. However, I will mention a few.

Poppies are symbolic of remembrance of soldiers who have died in war time. That is something we should all keep in our minds and be ever thankful to those who have sacrificed so much for us. We should also continue to pray for the men and women who serve our country selflessly and for their families as well.

Poppies are a beautiful addition to any garden, of course! They come in a variety of colors and a certain charm to any garden or landscape.

Poppies also produce little tasty seeds that are used in cooking and baking. Mmmmm…… a lemon poppy seed muffin sounds pretty yummy right about now! This poppy won’t produce those little seeds, but it might be just as satisfying to you to have it hanging on your wall. It won’t add calories to your diet either!

Hope you enjoy this painting whether it reminds you of a fallen soldier, a happy garden, or a delicious breakfast treat. Enjoy!
